Dynamic
Racks or Gravity Flow Racks work like a Drive-in system of
Metallic Racks, with the difference that the load moves by
gravity, on rollers or rails, from one end to the other end
of the rack, being ready to be picked. It is used for merchandise
having a great rotation and with eight or more pallets by
SKU. Ideal for inventories controlled by FIFO (First in, first
out) method. Their greatest advantages are the permanent product
availability in the picking aisle, which reduces time within
the storage area, a great use of the space available for storage
since it only needs two aisles (one for storaging and the
other one for picking), low manipulation of the product, perfect
control of the inventory and elimination of crossings or nonanticipated
interferences between the fork lifts, due to the independence
and unique function of his aisles.
Its greatest disadvantage is the cost, which is reflected
by the intensive use of high resistance roller systems.
